Malthaea SemiChibi

2016 - Day 119:
Please welcome my newest D&D character, Malthaea Moonbreeze! (SemiChibi Style)

Malthaea Moonbreeze is a wanderer, always seeking knowledge and the discovery of new things. The alabaster moon-elf dresses practically for her adventures, wielding a longbow and shortsword (and a hidden dagger). As is the case with all elves, her age is very difficult to discern but to a skilled eye one might notice that she isn't quite as lithe and quick as the younger elves, and perhaps most telling of all, her interest in other humanoids seems to be purely platonic.

As many long-lived individuals often do, Malthaea has taken to travelling to fulfill her desire for knowledge and discovery. Over time she found herself craving the companionship of something with a more similar life-span to her own and sought out the knowledge of familiar summoning, because what lives longer than a summoned spirit? Ever since, a small raven can often be found roosting close by or perching on her shoulder or pack.

Among her research for summoning a companion, Malthaea stumbled across some very dark magics. The ancient leatherbound tome (which she refers to as the Book of Shadows) that she now carries on her person at all times scribes the ramblings of a madman. But every tall tale has it's kernels of truth... and she won't allow anyone else near the passages that inadvertently allowed her to tap into the mighty Fenrir's chaotic and otherworldly power. The newly formed warlock (a few centures ago) set out to find answers to the unanswerable questions of the universe, and has ever since been looking to help stow away this potentially dangerous knowledge from hands which would use it for darker means.

Lo'ithian Loremaster Guild Marker

2016 - Day 116:
A prop or set piece if you will, for Mertoth! (More info found [ here ] about the persistent world D&D 5e game that you can play in too).

This is what the guild markers look like for the Lo'ithian Loremasters before they get trod on, scorched, chipped, bitten, eaten, melted or otherwise destroyed. This is what a responsibly cared for marker might look like, just some scratches and general wear giving it a bit of personality.

Cellar Laboratory Map for D&D

2016 - Day 113:
This was super fun, detailing the map to even hint at the trap. The players didn't notice the hints either, but the flooring around the trap/fall-through was all either big heavy metal sheets, nailed down, or weighed down by boulders.... except for the few floorboards that were loosely arranged!

This map was designed for an underground laboratory encounter that was run in Mertoth today, (for more info, check out r/strikingcrayon, and for the next 60 days you can see it in use in this vod: [ link ])

Urgent Research - Concept Sketch

2016 - Day 109:
Concept Sketch of a personal piece of my character Skah. From here, the next step will be to add in rudimentary colours and then to begin the long process of rendering details.

Skah is a Tengu which is a relatively uncommon race, which means that most days she wears a full length trenchcoat and plague mask to look a little less conspicuous.

Stream Overlay - Mertoth 1

2016 - Day 97:
Whew, it's been a long past few days! This is the first stream overlay image for the D&D campaigns that StrikingCrayon is running. (For more info about Mertoth, head over to r/strikingcrayon).
I am very happy with it! We will be adding in a few more accessories and an extra spot for webcam, but here we are finally. In another week or two I will have the second stream overlay done for the same project and I'm excited to show you guys that one, too, so stay tuned!

Landscape Concept 2 - Imperium of Man

2016 - Day 89:
This is the second landscape concept piece of the Imperium of Man project, which is a D&D setting made and maintained by StrikingCrayon. This particular piece is the header for the subreddit (which should be updated sometime tomorrow!)

This project is going to be an online consistent game where you can create your own characters and even star in games on twitch. For more information head over to/r/strikingcrayon and subscribe to be the first to get updates. The first games will be coming along very soon, so go make those characters!

Landscape Concept - Imperium of Man

2016 - Day 87:
This is just the first piece of one of those larger projects I was talking about a few weeks back.
Landscape concept art for the Imperium of Man, which is a D&D setting made and maintained by StrikingCrayon. This particular piece is the footer for the subreddit, and it's matching header will be updated tomorrow so hold tight for that!
